This really hit the spot today! I came because of driving by the location so many times around where my office is. Read the reviews on Yelp and saw the pictures and had a craving for carne asada. Boy am I glad I went! Great lunch special, $11 for the carne asada which includes a soup, cheese enchilada, carne asada, rice and beans. I'm stuffed! Top that off with a little Cuban coffee after and I'm ready to go. This is a much better alternative to La Bamba which is very popular. The service here is much better and the waitresses actually smile! I will return and recommend you try it too, definitely over La Bamba if you are thinking about it.

I can't believe this is my first time to Cielito Lindo considering I live in Pompano and this is one of the only Mexican restaurants in east Pompano, I knew it was there, driven past plenty of times, it's a small building on the corner on Dixie highway in not the nicest of neighborhoods so I wasn't compelled to stop before, well I have been missing out! The restaurant is small, but very clean and cute inside. There isn't a bar area, but even though it's small there are plenty of tables and they are comfortable and not on top of each other. Service was very welcoming and friendly, very attentive and helpful. This is what we had: - Special Jose Cuervo Margaritas on the rocks with salt: $4 each! 5 stars - Chips: FRESH, thin, crispy, warm, delicious: 5 stars - Salsas: Fresh, tasty, authentic: 5 stars - Carne Asada: Grilled marinated steak, tender, excellent rice, tasty refried beans, guac, very good! 4.5 stars because it was missing the typical green onions on top and the guac serving was on the small side. - Steak Fajitas: Amazing! Plenty of meat, tender big chunks, overall excellent flavor - 5 stars - Flan: Creamy, tasty. 4 stars We found the food to be excellent, and very reasonable priced! I couldn't get over that the Margaritas were only $4 bucks! The same Margarita would cost $9 at Roccos! We will definitely be returning.

I've been here for lunch before, but in this particular occasion we came for dinner. I was happy to find out it was all you can eat tacos Tuesday, and $2.50 margaritas. Now margaritas here are great, but the $2.50 ones are a little watered down, no surprise. We got to try every kind of tacos offered, my favorites were: chorizo and shrimp. The only thing that sour my visit was the confusion amongst servers, we had our regular server, but there was also another girl getting drinks, and both were entering the same drinks in the system, so when our bill came, according to them we'd had about 8 margaritas, when in reality it was only 4, two per person. I was embarrassed because they questioned us and seemed to think we were trying to cheat them. It was uncomfortable, but in the end they fix it. Next time, we'll just make sure only one person takes care of us.

Very good tacos and servers were friendly. We live right around the corner so this was a great find. The chips and salsa was great, tacos were fresh and tasty! The only reason why I am not giving them 5 stars is that they aren't very flexible or willing to make any changes when they run specials. We came in for Taco Tuesday and I wanted my tacos on flour (I hate corn) tortillas. I ordered the unlimited tacos and said just want ground beef on flour and she informed me that couldn't be done. Since it was fine to do steak, shrimp, etc I can't imagine why they wouldn't do ground beef and who cares if you switch the tortilla? I will note the server was very nice about it, but still, no flexibility. Anyways, the two taco dinner was more than enough food for me so it worked out. We will be back!

Was good for a quick lunch, I work down the street. Cheap prices quick service! Good was good, not the best Mexican but good! I ordered a taco salad with ground beef, lunch special came with chips salsa and a soup. The soup was delicious. It was a chicken and rice soup! Place is very small and crammed tables everywhere. This restaurant has been here forever so they know what there doing!! Enjoy!!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
